FAIRTEX TRAINING CENTER

Founded by Philip Wong / Fairtex brand · 1971

One of the most internationally recognized Muay Thai camps in the world, with a long history of producing world champions.

Fairtex is the largest international brand in Muay Thai, both as an equipment manufacturer and as a series of training camps. The Pattaya location is the flagship and one of the most visited Muay Thai camps in the world for foreign students. The camp pairs respected Thai head trainers with modern facilities — air-conditioned training space (a big deal in Thai summer), on-site accommodation, food, and a fight team that consistently produces ONE Championship and Lumpinee level talent.

What distinguishes Fairtex from many other Phuket and Pattaya camps is the depth of its women's program. Stamp Fairtex grew up training here, Smilla Sundell came from Sweden as a teenager and won a ONE Championship world title at seventeen, and Wondergirl is one of the camp's current marquee fighters. If you're a woman serious about Muay Thai training, Fairtex Pattaya is one of the few camps where the women's pipeline is as developed as the men's.

The pace at Fairtex is sustainable for visiting students. Most camps in Thailand follow a twice-a-day schedule that's brutal for newcomers; Fairtex has structured the days so amateurs can do one or both sessions depending on conditioning level, and the pad work is calibrated to where you actually are rather than to where the camp's pro fighters are. This makes it one of the better camps for a first Thailand training trip.

Downsides: Fairtex Pattaya is more expensive than non-tourist camps in the provinces, and Pattaya itself is not for everyone — it's a tourist resort city with a particular nightlife scene. Most Fairtex students stay focused on training, but if you want a quieter cultural immersion, Chiang Mai or rural Kanchanaburi camps will fit better.
