BANCHAMEK GYM

Founded by Buakaw Banchamek

Buakaw's gym, where the conditioning-first philosophy that built one of the most famous Muay Thai careers is taught directly.

Banchamek Gym is Buakaw's personal training facility in Bangkok. After the legal disputes with Por. Pramuk that defined the middle of his career, Buakaw established this gym to train under his own brand and develop a new generation of fighters in the style that made him an international icon.

The Banchamek style is conditioning-heavy. Buakaw famously builds his game around being able to maintain pace at the same intensity for the entire fight, when most fighters would be gassed by round three. The training reflects this: long rounds, no excuses, brutal cardio sessions, and the kind of pad work that builds explosive single-shot power rather than technical finesse. If you want to learn how Buakaw fights, you train the way Buakaw trains.

The gym is open to foreign students and has English-speaking staff, though Buakaw himself is not always present — he's still actively competing and traveling. The trainers who run the day-to-day program are credible Thai instructors with stadium fight backgrounds. For students whose physical attributes (stamina, power) and stylistic preferences match Buakaw's template, this is one of the best places to train. For technical, ring-craft fighters, PKSaenchai or a femur-style camp is a better fit.

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

Conditioning-first Muay Thai — relentless cardio, explosive power development, and the aggressive forward pressure style Buakaw made famous.
